Community members gathered Friday, May 22, at Koenig Lumber in Fairfax for the raising of what is now the largest flag in South Dakota. The massive hand-sewn nylon American flag measures 40 by 80 feet—large enough to cover an entire high school basketball court—and flies from a 140-foot pole. Both the flag and pole were manufactured in Dallas, Texas.

Although the recycling trailer committee has agreed to reopen the trailer, they are not ready to do so quite yet. First, the cameras have not yet been installed.
