    A recent letter expressed support of Erin Tobin for District 21 senator because of her agricultural background and the values this upbringing instilled in her. However, a few moments of thoughtful consideration would lead one to the realization that Mykala Voita, the candidate Ms. Tobin is challenging in the senate race, has a virtually identical set of developmental bona fides. A reasoned investigation reveals the key differentiating factor between these two ladies is their dramatically different ideas on the influence government should have over the citizens of South Dakota.

    Harney built the Military post at Fort Randall, bringing with him the men under whose auspices and direction the treaty of cession with the Yankton Indians was to be made. They were also responsible for the erection of a political organization which became known as the Territory of Dakota.

    Johnson announces $65 million for Platte-Winner Bridge

    U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) announced $65 million of federal funding for the Platte-Winner bridge along Highway 44. This bridge replacement restores a vital transportation link for not only Gregory and Charles Mix Counties, but the entire region.
