Daniel Grim

Danny worked at various jobs until he started his career with Divine Concrete in Bonesteel, SD. He enjoyed working with the crew and taking many trips with the Divine Concrete family. In 2003, Danny took over the family farm which he operated until the time of his death.

Danny took pride in raising his Angus cattle and selling registered bulls. He enjoyed fishing and raising a huge garden. He was always willing to help out his family, friends, and neighbors.

Danny passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021, at home on the family farm at the age of 62.

Danny is survived by his siblings: Rich (Sara) Grim, Nola Grim (Harland), Randy Grim, Jan Schrader, Darwin (Kerri) Grim, and Tina Grim Schmaltz; brother-in-law Delbert Klein; sister-in-law Nancy Grim; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents Leonard “Ray” and Irene, brothers: Dennis, Larry, and Rod, and sisters: Cheryl and Pat.

Funeral services for Daniel Grim were held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home in Gregory, SD, with Pastor Royal Archer officiating.

Mollie Andrews and Annie Hamilton were in charge of registration and Dulcie Swan and Sierra Swan were flower attendants.

Casket bearers were Rich Grim, Randy Grim, Darwin Grim, Calvin Klein, Matt Schrader, Cody Grim, Kyle Grim and Jaden Swan.

Burial was in the Hillview Cemetery in Dallas, SD. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Daniel Paul Grim was born November 5, 1958, to Leonard Raymond and Irene (Stahlecker) Grim in Gregory, SD.

Danny grew up on the family farm six miles south of Gregory. He attended Gordon School District #46 until it closed, and then he attended Gregory High School and graduated in 1977.
