A memorial service was held for Duane Sieh on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Naper Auditorium in Naper, NE, with Pastor Gary Binder officiating.

Music was provided by Ann Anderson, organist, and Stacy Zeisler and Jamie Nordstrom were in charge of registration.

Inurnment was in the Knollcrest Cemetery in Naper, NE. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Duane Max Sieh was born November 3, 1932, at his parents’ home in rural Keya Paha County, NE. When he was in the eighth grade, his parents, George and Annie Sieh, moved their family to a farm in western Boyd County, NE. After completing the eighth grade, he took the eighth grade exams at Brocksburg, NE. He continued his education at Naper High School, graduating in 1950.

Duane enlisted in the Navy on January 23, 1952, during the Korean War. He served for four years. Upon returning home, he worked at various jobs around the area. On April 12, 1959, Duane married Marilyn Smith at Fairfax, SD. On June 11, 1962, a daughter was born: Lora Faye. They spent their entire married life farming and ranching.

Duane and Marilyn celebrated both their 50th and 60th anniversaries with family and friends.

He passed away June 10, 2022, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, SD, at the age of 89 years.

Duane is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn; daughter, Lora (Keith) Cline of Naper, NE; granddaughter, Jessica (Cory) Haglund of Spencer, NE; grandson, Kurt (Cindy) Cline of Fullerton, CA; greatgranddaughters: Rebekah and Eloise Cline and Elsie and Nicklyn Haglund; brother Mike (Darlene) Sieh of Creston, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Earl, and his sisters: Hilda Tietgen, June Smith, and Fern Sondgeroth.
