Gary Fuhrman

Gary Fuhrman was born February 20, 1945 in Burke, SD, to Henry and Frances (Kirsch) Fuhrman.

Gary graduated from Burke High School with the class of 1963. He furthered his education at the University of South Dakota Springfield, obtaining a bachelor’s of science degree in auto technology and diesel. He used his knowledge to teach diesel mechanics at Iowa Lakes Community College and Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO.

Prior to Gary’s college days, he honorably served in the US Navy for four years. He also later went on and joined the Army National Guard for 20 years.

On October 30, 1964, Gary Fuhrman and Sharon Davis were united in marriage in Burke, SD.

Gary was always learning something new. He earned his black belt in Taekwondo, trained to be an EMT and medic in the military, enjoyed carpentry, woodworking and hunting. With all of Gary’s accomplishments, being a Grandpa was his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary Lee Fuhrman, age 76, of Buffalo, MN, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Frances (Kirsch) Fuhrman; brother, Jim Fuhrman; parents-in-law, John and Jenna Davis; and sister-in-law, Susan Davis.

Gary was survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Fuhrman of Buffalo, MN; daughter, Lorra (Bryan) Parliament of Rogers, MN; grandchildren, Jenna, Jace, Sara, Anna; sister, Rita (David) Kaupp of Gregory, SD; brothers, David (Ellen) Fuhrman of Marian, SD, Ray Fuhrman of WI; sister-in-law, Jean Fuhrman of Elkhorn, NE; brother-in-law, Chuck Davis of Naper, NE; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN, was in charge of arrangements.
