Hanford “Bill” Hyde

Hanford George “Bill” Hyde was born June 11, 1926, in New Canton, IL, to Hanford V. and Ethel (Walton) Hyde.

Bill graduated from high school in Pittsfield, IL, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Mary “Tea” Tinsley on April 18, 1947. To this union five children were born: Judith, Barbara, William, Brian, and Robert.

Bill was in the beekeeping business with his parents in Illinois and South Dakota. The two families moved to Gregory, SD, in 1952, where they raised honey, specializing in comb honey. In the mid 1980s, Bill and Tea moved to Colorado, where they managed Super Eight Motels. In 1996, they moved to Wyoming to be near family.

Bill passed away May 11, 2022, in Sheridan, WY, at Mountain View Living Center at the age of 95.

Bill is survived by his son Robert (Teresa) Hyde of Norfolk, NE; daughters Barbara (Ron) DeBerg of Cody, WY, and Judith (Dennis) Walker of Reliance, SD; daughter-in-law Tamera Hyde, her sons Tony and Michael Cola and her granddaughter Aria; grandchildren Emily Paris, Jennifer Palsma, Mitchel Hyde, Kali Hyde, Joe Hyde, Stephanie Hyde, Ben Hyde, Justin Eaton, Natalie Kerber, Sabrina Malcolm, Don DeBerg, Ted Walker, Jason Walker, Mark Walker; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, sons William Hyde and Brian Hyde, granddaughter Amanda DeBerg, and four infant grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
