Janet Ticknor

A private family memorial service for Janet Ticknor will be held at burial. Clausen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Janet was born to Minnie and Andrew Qualm on August 3, 1936 in Bonesteel, SD. Upon graduating from Bonesteel High School in 1954, she attended the University of South Dakota.

On December 29, 1954, she married Larry Ticknor of Burke, SD. Janet and Larry enjoyed travel and saw much of the world. They spent many winters in Palm Desert golfing and hosting family.

Janet was an avid bridge player and involved in her P.E.O. chapter including being the state President of P.E.O. for a time.

In their later years Janet and Larry moved back to their roots in Bonesteel on an acreage and enjoyed their ranch and the country.

Janet Leah Ticknor, age 84, of Sioux Falls passed away at the Avera Hospice on Monday, April 26, 2021.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Larry in September of 2020.

She is survived by her sons Greg (Kris) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jim (Laurie) of Belgrade, MT, six grandchildren Andrew (Tara), Jacob, Erica, Stuart, Tom, and Rachel and one great-granddaughter.

Janet is also survived by her sister Andrea and her husband Gary of Wall, South Dakota.
