Jeannette Hogg

Memorial services for Jeannette Hogg was held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, in Burke, SD, with Pastor Sarah Herman officiating. Lori Kaupp and Robin Haney were in charge of registration. Music was provided by Charlene Juran, organist. Urn bearers were all of Jeannette’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honorary urn bearers were the staff at Fairway View Senior Communities. Inurnment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Jeannette Ruth Hogg was born September 12, 1934, in Brookings, SD, to Stanley and Grace (Brownson) Soule. Jeannette passed away at the Fairway View Senior Communities in Ortonville, MN, at the age of 87.

Jeannette attended elementary school in Brookings and graduated from Faulkton High School in 1952. After high school, she attended the Methodist School of Nursing in Mitchell, SD, graduating with a three year RN degree. She worked in Panama for one year and then returned to Faulkton.

On December 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Clairen Hogg, and to this union four children were born: Patricia Ann, Robert Dean, Nancy Jean, and Jerald Lee.

Jeannette was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Clairen; her parents, Stanley and Grace; and her sister, Barbara Soule.

She is survived by her children: Patty Jones of Burke, SD; Robert (Lyla) Hogg of Parker, SD; Nancy Lee of Ortonville, MN; and Jerry (Abby) Hogg of Dickinson, ND; her grandchildren: Sarah (Tyler) Hotchkiss, Erin Hogg, Scott Jones, Allan (Keshia) Hogg, Adam (Heather) Hogg, Amanda Lee, James Lee, Carson Hogg, and Caden Hogg; her great-grandchildren: Arnold, Ty, Geneva, Evelyn, and KayDee Hotchkiss, Gannon, Cooper, Brooklyn and Nora Hogg, Abbi and Huxley Hogg; her special caretaker - Randy DeNeui - aka “Golf Cart Guy”; along with her nieces and nephews.
