Joan Davis

Graveside services for Joan Davis were held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD, with Father Jonathan Dillon officiating.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joan Kaye Davis was born November 1, 1949, to James Leroy and Lenora Lena (Kramer) Davis.

She was a lovely young child that played with and called her sibling by name until she became ill. At the age of five years old, she ran a high fever that left her disabled. Joan remained at home with her parents until the passing of her mother in June of 1974. She then entered the Redfield State Hospital in Redfield, SD. When the hospital closed, Joan moved to Milestone in Chamberlain, SD. She resided in a home with other residents while in Chamberlain. Joan had a roommate and enjoyed her stuffed animals, and rocking in her rocking chair.

She died March 19, 202, at Sanford Hospital in Chamberlain, SD, at the age of 72 years.

Joan is survived by her brother Norman (Melva) Davis of Sioux Falls, SD; her nieces and nephews: Dennis (Julia) Schmitz, Barb (Loren) Nicolaus, Kimberly (Wayne Kaup) Schonebaum, Carl Jr (Melanie) Ludemann, Craig Ludemann, Brad Ludemann, Brian (Amanda) Ludemann, Shaun (Joan) Davis, Cory (Jeannie) Davis, Chris (Ashley) Davis, Dwaine Davis, David (Marilee) Davis, DeAnne (Brad) Rechtenbaugh, Bob (Tara) Davis, Derick Davis, and their families.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Sarah (Gerald) Schmitz and Donna (Carl) Ludemann; and her brother John (Bobbi) Davis.
