Larry Fischer

Funeral services for Larry Fischer were held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene.

Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery near LaMoure, ND. Dahlstrom Funeral Home of Oakes, ND, was in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born August 17, 1941, at Gregory, SD, to Harry and Esther (Stellwag) Fischer. He attended Burke High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 18. After his honorable discharge, Larry moved to the LaMoure area, where he began his lifelong career of trucking, retiring in 2015.

He married Kathleen Christofferson and together they had two children, Lawrence and Lori. He later married Karen Kristensen and adopted Karl. In 2006, Larry began a relationship with June Werre and gained her two children, JoLeen and Peggy.

Larry enjoyed driving truck, fishing, having coffee at the Dairy Bar with friends, and spending time with his family.

Larry Fischer, age 80, of LaMoure, ND, passed away December 13, 2021, at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

He is survived by his significant other June Werre; his children: Lawrence (Brenda) Fischer, Lori (Paul) Wald, and Karl (Kristy Reifenrath) Fischer; five grandchildren: Dustin Fischer, Ashley (Skyler Mittleider) Fischer, Courtney (Ryan) Ost, Jayden Wald, and Tiahna Wald; three great-grandchildren: June’s daughters: JoLeen (Duane) Burgard and Peggy (Ron Davis) Middleworth; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; three sisters: Judy Evans, Janice Gruhn, and Kathy (Kenny) Rajewich.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Evelyn Fischer, an infant brother, brother-in-law Russ Evans, and aunts and uncles.
