Linda Jean Connick was born on January 1, 1944, in Lynch, NE, to Harold and Ione (Thompson) Connick. She was the first of ten children. Linda attended different schools as her father worked on the railroad and moved around. She started in Niobrara, then attended Wahoo, Lynch, Plainview, Niobrara, Colome, Bonesteel, and finally Gregory for her senior year. Linda graduated from Gregory High School in 1962 and attended Springfield College, majoring in elementary education. She taught in rural schools including the Iona school, Ideal, Greenwood, and Eden, until taking Winner’s Eastside Elementary third grade room, where she taught until she retired to the family farm.

On November 29, 1963, Linda married Arlyn Feyereisen. They were together until Arlyn passed on November 30, 2019. They had two children, Theresa Jean and Arlyn Lee; three grandchildren, Alan Dean, Kaleb William, and Kaelee Jean; and one great-grandchild, Dartanian Scott.

Linda was an avid reader, and loved romance, mysteries, and science fiction. She was amazed at the reading capabilities of her great-grandson because he learned to read at an early age, and of her granddaughter because she could speed read like Linda’s mom, Ione. Linda did Title I reading for part of her career. She loved to play cards, especially Hand Knee and Foot. She gardened almost every year of her life and was in the middle of planning both a new vegetable garden and a memory flower garden. Linda also enjoyed going to the stock show and rodeo with her friends, and camping with family and friends. It became much more enjoyable when they got their camper, and they spent many weekends at Snake Creek.

Linda was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Bonesteel. After she married, she became a member of the Methodist Church which she attended for the rest of her life. She was grateful to be able to watch church services on Facebook during Covid lockdown. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club and always looked forward to their meetings and events. Linda loved music and enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform in concerts. She loved cooking, baking, and canning food. Her family loved hunting near the farm so they could eat her meals.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Arlyn; her parents Harold and Ione Connick; three brothers, Harold Jr., Mike, and Dan; father and mother-in-law William and Lucy Feyereisen; and two brothers-in-law, William Dean and Gordon James.
