Robert (Bubba) Lee Baldwin was born on May 1, 1989, in Torrington, WY, to Loren and Christina (Holt) Baldwin.
Robert grew up as a typical ranch kid. He came home to his parents on the family ranch in Goshen Co., WY, Prairie Center. He spent his time outdoors, following his daddy around as “Cowboy Bob”. Robert attended schools in Niobrara County until the family left the family ranch and moved to Keya Paha County, Burton, NE, in 2000. Robert attended schools in Niobrara County, Burton School district, and Gregory School district, graduating in 2007. Robert graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College in 2011 with a degree in construction trades.
Robert’s greatest joy was his family. He was the brother of two sisters: Magen (Megs) Marie and Elizabeth Amy (Libby). He loved spending time with either and both of them, and also transferred that love to his nieces. He was Everlee Belle’s world and soon Mckinley Ann and Cathryn Marie as well.
At an early age Robert developed a love for comics and games. It started with Teenage Mutant Turtles. School didn’t come easy, but once he learned to read and listen to stories, the world became his. He developed a passion for Batman and the Marvel/DC comic world. He could spend hours reading about his favorite characters and the story lines. Robert also liked to draw. He didn’t see colors, so many of his drawings were black and white. He was fascinated with how things worked. His family would often find things dismantled because he wanted to see how things worked.
Robert worked many jobs throughout his young career, starting with Mom/Dad’s ranch hand, neighbor laborer, and then on to cleaning birds for a local lodge. Once he graduated from NCKTC, he worked for Belle Industries of Beloit, Kansas, as a stone mason. His pathway soon brought him home where he worked at various places including such as Spann Construction, Cenex, Running’s and finally Bubbas’ Bowling Alley.
Robert passed away at age 32 after a car accident in Colome, SD, on November 26, 2021.
Robert is survived by his parents Loren and Christina; sisters Magen Baldwin (Rich Magnuson, Mckinley, Cathryn) of Wood Lake, NE, and Elizabeth Baldwin (Everlee Belle), Winner, SD; his grandfather Wayne Holt of Brush, CO; aunt Colleena and Randy Burinsides (Danielle, Brittany, and families) of New Braunfels, TX; uncles David (Wendy) Holt, Morgan and Jaxon, of Brush, CO, and Gerald and Barry Baldwin families of rural Wyoming; and so many family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley Holt, aunt Carla, grandparents Harry and Belle Baldwin, and cousins Kurtis, Levi, and Chelbi Holt.
