Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson was born on March 13, 1926, in Dallas, SD, the youngest child of the late Thomas R. and Louise “Lizzie” (Adams) Johnson.

Bob enjoyed his family and extended relatives which included his five grandkids and four great-grandchildren, all of whom live in Southern California area, along with his nieces and nephews of Washington, Texas, California, Arizona, and Minnesota.

Bob lived a full and fun filled life enjoying boating, skiing, fishing, camping and “RV”ing with his family and friends as leisure activities.

Bob was a member of the Merchant Marines serving in WWII.

Robert “Bob” Johnson died July 28, 2021, at his home of the past 23 years in Escondido, CA, after having had a stroke, fall and hip fracture. After being rehabilitated at home by his son, Don, he suffered an additional stroke and fall a year later.

Bob was 95 years of age and is survived by his wife of 73 years Donna Johnson (McCright) formerly of Gregory, SD, sons Tom and wife Marcia of Eugene, OR, Don of Escondido, CA, and son-in-law Bob Nelson of Escondido, CA.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Susan Nelson, and all of his siblings and their spouses, Ellen Tindall, Ruby Hansen, Irene Williams, and Tommy Johnson.
