Roberta Vosika

Funeral services for Roberta Vosika were held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Kotrba- Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Grim officiating.

Janelle Choal was in charge of registration.

Casket bearers were Steve Esterling, Michael Esterling, Daniel Soesbe, Troy Horton, and Scott Davis. Honorary casket bearers were all her nieces and nephews and the CNAs from Avera Rosebud Country Care Center. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roberta Ann was born July 1, 1953, in Gregory, SD, to Edwin and Dorothy (Smith) Esterling. She joined the world with her twin brother Robert. She was the second oldest girl of seven kids.

When she was younger, the family lived on a farm two miles outside of Burke, SD. During the summer, the kids enjoyed playing outside. When winter came, they all pitched in to help Edwin do chores.

Roberta married Harlyn Krause in 1971 in Pierre, SD. To this union, two children were born: Harlyn Junior and Tamie. Harlyn passed away in 1974, and several months after, Roberta returned to her home area of Gregory, SD.

While living in Gregory, she enjoyed playing bingo with her mom Dorothy and watching westerns on television, along with visiting her family in the area.

Roberta was united in marriage to Craig Vosika on June 29, 1996. They resided in the Gregory area for the remainder of their marriage.

In May of 2020, Roberta entered the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, SD, due to medical issues.

Raberta passed away on August 11, 2022, at Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, SD.

Roberta is survived by her estranged husband Craig of Gregory, SD; son Harlyn (Misty) Claussen of Gregory, SD; five grandchildren; sisters Linda (Chuck) Fleming of Gregory, SD, Judy Davis of Mitchell, SD, and Barb (Donovan) Small of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers Marvin of Gregory, SD, and Rick (Yolanda) of Mitchell, SD; aunt Melva (Bob) Miller of Redfield, SD; uncle Melvin (LeRay) Smith of Dallas, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both sets of grandparents, her first husband Harlyn, her twin brother Robert, nephew Brad, daughter Tamie, and numerous aunts and uncles.
