Vicki Grubbs

Vicki Joan Grubbs was born on April 24, 1949, to George and Mary Grubbs. She grew up in Gregory, South Dakota, surrounded by her siblings Terry, Dan, George, Linda, and Starla (Dooley). Her early years in Gregory were filled with family, community, and the experiences that shaped the person she would become. After graduating from high school, Vicki attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Following her time in college, she moved to San Diego, CA, where she built her life and made lasting friendships. From the early 1970s until her retirement, Vicki was employed as a computer technician, working on both hardware and software solutions.

Vicki will be remembered for her warmth, independence, and the connections she maintained with family and friends throughout her life. Her journey from the plains of South Dakota to the coast of California reflected her adventurous spirit and willingness to embrace new opportunities. She loved reading, cherished the companionship of her pets, and cared deeply about supporting causes that worked to better the planet.

Vicki passed away Mar 19, 2026, at the age of 76. She is survived by her special friend, Marian Terry of San Diego, CA; siblings: Terry Grubbs, George Grubbs, and Starla Grubbs (Dooley); extended family members and many friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Grubbs, and her siblings Dan and Linda.

Vicki’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
