Kay Ronspies

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am. on Saturday, June 3, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Armour, SD. Bittner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Kay Ronspies was born February 14, 1950, to Earl and Hilda (Fuerst) Mills in Parkston, SD. Kay went to three different country schools before attending Armour High School, graduating in 1968. She had many farm pets from a pet hen, Rosa, to a ewe sheep, Susie, and her pet cats. She helped her mom with chores after school. Kay married Paul Ronspies on November 23, 1968. The couple made their home near Armour, SD. Kay worked at Colonial Manor Nursing Home for several years, and had many part-time jobs before moving in 1985 to Dallas, SD, where she managed Rainbow Ranch until 1996. They then moved to Hawarden where Kay worked at a couple of different factories. She later attended Bio Chi Institute to become a licensed massage therapist.

Lillian Middlesworth

Funeral services for Lillian Middlesworth were held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Winner, SD, with Mother Annie Henninger officiating. Music was provided by Ronald Highrock, pianist. Marla Liggett and Ann Marts were in charge of registration. Kathy Svoboda, Carrie Howard and Suzanne Kahler were flower attendants. Casket bearers were Anthony Middlesworth, Bill Marshall, Greg Olsen, Jeff Howard, Jim Kahler, and Zeke Parvin. Lillian Ruth (White Pipe) Middlesworth was born on June 3, 1943, in Okreek, SD, on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation. She was the oldest of six children born to Charles, Sr. and Lorraine (Prue) White Pipe, Lillian lived in Okreek with her family until she was 12 years old and only spoke Lakota. When the family decided to move to Gregory, Lillian’s grandma and cousins helped her learn English before she started seventh grade in Gregory schools, where she graduated from high school in 1961.

Irma Jean Smith

Funeral services for Irma Jean Smith were held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, SD, with Pastor Gary Jacobsen officiating Casket bearers were Valerie DeBates, Sara Allen, Jacqueline Bates, Orrin Johnson, Ingrid Reuter, Alissa Luden, Amy Penning, Natalie Arreola, and Sam Krier. Interment was in the Hillview Cemetery in Dallas, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Irma Jean was born near Dallas, SD, on June 21, 1925, the seventh of James and Martha (Emme) Edwards’s 11 children.

Funeral services for Paul Vanden Bosch were held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Berean Church in Gregory, SD, with Pastor Andrew Chlebek officiating. Music was provided by Christopher and Stephen Lobley and Paul’s grandchildren, accompanied by Carla Lobley, pianist. Tom and Mary Prouty were in charge of registration, and flower attendants were Elizabeth McClure, Mariah Kinney, Jayne Barrow, Sophia Vanden Bosch, Daphne Vanden Bosch, and Kendra Jones. Casket bearers were Mike Vanden Bosch, John Vanden Bosch, Matt Barrow, Jon Barrow ,Ben Barrow, Chris Lobley, Stephen Lobley, and Edward Vanden Bosch. Honorary casket bearers: Tom Prouty, Jason Nebola, Scott McClellen, Vic Schmitz, Danny Vavra, Emmett Kotrba, Jim Hogrefe, A.J. Steffen, Danny Davidson, Joel Barrow, and Rick Lobley.

Gladys Rajewich

Funeral services for Gladys Rajewich were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre. Burial was in the Gregory IOOF Cemetery at Gregory, SD. Isburg Funeral Chapel of Pierre, SD, was in charge of arrangements. Gladys L. Herrmann was born June 20, 1927, to John and Lydia (Miller) Herrmann at her parents’ home north of Dallas, SD, the sixth of eight children. Gladys was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church at Dixon, SD. She attended Dixon School #40 until moving with her family to Wewela, SD, where she completed her elementary education. They later moved to a farm west of Wewela and near Millboro, SD.

Gwendolynn Gall

Funeral services for Gwendolynn Gall were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Fremont Alliance Church in Fremont, NE. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery. Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, NE, was in charge of arrangements. Gwendolynn Kay Hornback was born on February 10, 1945, to Earl and Fern Hornback. They brought her home to join her sister Karen and brother Shelton on a farm outside of Spencer, NE, in Boyd County. She was raised in a good Christian home and attended a country school. Later, she would venture into Spencer and live with her grandma Mary Etta Hornback and attend high school there. She graduated high school in 1963 and moved to Columbus, NE, to live with her sister Karen’s family and work at Dale Electronics.

Waldron Stone Arrow
