Funeral services for Marvin Gustafson were held on, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Colton, SD, with Pastor Susan Jennys officiating. Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service for Doris Gist was held Monday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Sioux Falls, SD, with Pastor Sara Nelson officiating.

Funeral services for Harold Haines were held February 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Northern Hills Baptist Church in Holt, MO, with Larry Stevens officiating. Music was provided by Amy Turpen, vocalist, Becky Collison, narrator, and Kevin Burgoon, pianist. Readers were Lanny Rawdon and Harold Kennedy. Casket bearers were Travis Auer, Ginger Auer, Joe Watts, Hallie Watts, Nathan Bowman, and Carley Bowman. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, MO. Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, MO, was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Richard Bailey were held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Burke Civic Center in Burke, SD, with Pastor Sarah Herman officiating. Music was provided by Jim Halverson, and Jolene VanMetre and Sherry Opbroek were in charge of registration. Flower attendants were Karen Martin, Linda Purvis, Sue Chytka, Sharon Neuharth, and Laurie Kenzy. Casket bearers were Tyler White, Noah Bailey, Spencer White, Levi White, Kenny Wall, and Kristian Ortiz. Honorary casket bearers were all of his friends. Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Christine Nelson were held on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, SD, with Perry Pearson and Dennis Hause, officiating. Lael Nelson gave the eulogy, and Chandra Isackson read a poem. Music was provided by Gwen Aarestad and Jolene Krisher, and Sherry Cronk was in charge of registration. Casket bearers were Dr. Derek Nelson, Justin Nelson, Ty Smith, Landon Nelson, Mark Isackson, Shane Lechtenberg, Beth Lechtenberg, Jaden Nelson, and Gillian Nelson. Interment was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Jana Jelinek and Pam Erickson officiated. Clausen Funeral Home of Burke, SD, was in charg of arrangements.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Boxa were held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gregory, SD, with Father Jonathan Dillon officiating. Music was provided by the congregation, accompanied by Katie Opp, pianist. Joe Duling was lector, Patti Willuweit was cantor, Kimberly Veskrna was in charge of registration, Joe and Lynn Duling were gift bearers, and altar servers were Ryler Stevicks and Sophia Stevicks Casket bearers were Daren Roggow, Doug Roggow, Ray Stevicks, Sr., Ray Stevicks, Jr., Dan Baxa, Roland Holub, Scott Anshutz, and Todd Cook. Honorary casket bearers were K’loni Shanbel, James Shindelbower, Jarred Schnabel, Jordan Schnabel, Shawn Shindelbower, Seth Trautman, Tom Trautman, Isaac Trautman, Frank Fulwider, Rich Rubel, and Bryan Nelson.

Funeral services for Ferman “Bud” Harter were held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winner, SD, with Pastor Royal Archer officiating. Shelly Day and Lowell Lane were in charge of registration, and flower attendants were Mary Lynn Zink and Lori Haukaas. Casket bearers were grandsons Toby Harter, Zachary Harter, Reed Harter, and Jordyn Harter, son-in-law Kelly Simunek, and nephew Glen Jorgensen. Honorary casket bearers were all of bud’s family, friends, and “The Dogs”. Interment was in the Colome City Cemetery in Colome SD, with military honors conferred by the Colome American Legion and the National Honors Team. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Eugene Kerner were held at 2:00 p.m. on February 10, 2023, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chadron, NE. Eugene Edward Kerner was born on August 25, 1942. He passed away on February 7, 2023, in Hay Springs, NE. Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron, NE, was in charge of arrangements. Eugene was preceded in death by his mother Olena (Klundt) Kerner; father Oscar Kerner; and brothers James, Joseph, and Vernon Kerner. Eugene was survived by his wife Joan Kerner; sons Douglas Kerner and Darin (Cammie) Kerner; daughter Julie (Troy) Miller; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
