Gorillas score big win against the Warbirds

The Gregory Gorillas hosted the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds on Friday evening, September 26, 2025, and pulled off a 57-6 win in just under one half. Lincoln Juracek was back at quarterback for the game, which made a big impact for the whole team.

Spikers battle to five sets against Todd County

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the Gregory Lady Spikers faced off against the Todd County Lady Falcons in what turned into a hard-fought five-set battle. “Although we came up short, we are proving grit and determination when we have long, five set nights,” Head Coach Lauren Braun said.

Spikers honor seniors with sweep of White River

The Gregory Lady Spikers came away with a decisive threeset victory over the White River Lady Tigers on Monday, September 22, 2025, capping off a special night of celebration for the team’s seven seniors. It was a memorable senior night for Haylie Vaughn, Dani Timanus, Asia VanDerWerff, Ella Sperl, Aubree Opp, Shyanna Steffen, and Aubree Miller—players who have poured countless hours into this program and set the tone for our team’s culture.

CC/CD Teams compete at mulitple competitions

The girls traveled to Mitchell on September 4, 2025, with dance only. This was a big competition with AA and A schools. Pom placed 13th with scores averaging at 65 points & HipHop placed 11th with an average of 72.

Gorilla Cross Country Team bring home several PR’s

The Gorilla cross country team participated in the Wagner Invite at the Pickstown Golf Course on Monday, September 15, 2025. In the middle school boys division Aiden Stevicks placed 15th with a time of 8:40 and in the middle school girls division Lydia Wonnenberg placed 13th with a time of 9:33.

4-H shooters place well at State fall shoot

Gregory County 4-H shooters competed in the 2025 State fall shoot on September 6, 2025. Beginners Connor Atteberry and Gus Witt placed in all three categories; Connor won the beginner division in trap and sporting clays and placed third in skeet while Gus finished second in sporting clays, third in trap, and fifth in skeet. Since only seniors move on to the national competition, the two shooters don’t have that to look forward to this year, but Coach Jennifer Bailey expects a bright future for them if they continue to stick with shooting sports and further hone their skills.

Gorillas deliver a Homecoming victory

The Gregory Gorilla football team hosted the Bon Homme Cavaliers Friday evening, September 20, 2025, and delivered a 62-14 Homecoming victory. The Gorillas got off to an early lead on two Landon Keiser runs before Bon Homme scored.

Spikers fall in 5-set battle to Parkston

The Gregory Lady Spikers came up just short in a hard-fought fiveset match against the Parkston Lady Trojans on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, showing grit and determination from start to finish. The Spikers opened the night strong, battling point for point with Parkston, but in the end, the Trojans were able to capitalize on key runs in the decisive fifth set to edge them out.

Spikers compete at Bon Homme Cavalier Clash

The Gregory Spikers traveled to Tyndall on Saturday, September 20, 2025, to compete in the Bon Homme Cavalier Clash. In pool play, the Spikers faced off against some tough competition—Elk Point-Jefferson, Lennox, and Andes Central/Dakota Christian. Despite their efforts, they came up short against EPJ and Lennox, but battled hard to secure a win over AC/DC. With those results, we were unable to advance into the championship bracket.
