    GFP receiving reports of hemorrhagic disease at various levels

    GFP has received reports of hemorrhagic disease in deer at varying levels across South Dakota and asks for assistance in reporting dead deer. Landowners who are in the field, archery and upland game hunters, and anyone else who encounters dead deer of unknown causes are encouraged to contact their local Conservation Officer or GFP Office.

    Gregory Co. FFA students compete at Land and Range contest

    On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, four Gregory County FFA members competed in the Land and Range contest at Varilek Angus in Geddes, SD. The team of Ben Stevicks, Matthew Smith, Taylor Zeisler, and Morgan Peck placed second, and three of them placed in the top ten individually.

    Roadway safety during harvest

    If you have been on the roads lately, you have probably noticed that harvest is in full swing. While seeing fields getting taken out is a pretty visual reminder, there are other things that happen during harvest that may not be as obvious. But, all of those things lead to sharing the road with agricultural producers.

    Spikers sweep Chamberlain Lady Cubs in straight sets

    The Gregory Spikers picked up a solid win on Thursday, October 2, 2025, defeating the Chamberlain Lady Cubs in three straight sets. “The girls came out with energy, executed well, and showed the kind of teamwork we’ve been working toward,” Head Coach Lauren Braun commented.

    Marching Gorillas Wow crowd in Vermillion

    The Marching Gorillas arrived at school at 5 a.m. this past Saturday, October 4, 2025, for their trip to perform at the 9 a.m. Dakota Days parade in Vermillion, SD. Gregory was one of nine bands to perform and compete in the parade. For their efforts, the Marching Gorillas brought home a first-place trophy in class ‘A’ by scoring more points than Vermillion High School.
