    MINDFUL MOMENTS

This month Mindful Moments writers have been sharing information regarding suicide awareness. When a loved one is lost, there is a ripple effect that extends far beyond immediate families. We are small communities; we know each other and we support each other- especially in hard times. Suicide Awareness Month is a time to remember loved ones we’ve lost, shine a light on prevention, and honor the hurt and heaviness grief brings.

4-H shooters place well at State fall shoot

Gregory County 4-H shooters competed in the 2025 State fall shoot on September 6, 2025. Beginners Connor Atteberry and Gus Witt placed in all three categories; Connor won the beginner division in trap and sporting clays and placed third in skeet while Gus finished second in sporting clays, third in trap, and fifth in skeet. Since only seniors move on to the national competition, the two shooters don’t have that to look forward to this year, but Coach Jennifer Bailey expects a bright future for them if they continue to stick with shooting sports and further hone their skills.
