SD Landowner & Outfitter Alliance (SDLOA) calls for ban on “Fake Meat”

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the SDLOA announced their intent to seek legislative approval to ban “fake meat” including its production and sale in South Dakota. Several states have already pursued the ban, most recently Florida Governor Ron DiSantis signed legislation banning fake meat.

Farmers Union county camp to be held June 6

South Dakota Farmers Union is hosting “Forging Cooperatives” day camp for ages 6-12 years. Camp will be held at the Gregory City Park, Gregory, SD on June 6, 2024, from 8:00 a.m.

Sangster and McFayden promoted within G.F. Buche Co.

Brenda Sangster started with G.F. Buche Company in 2014 with the task of bringing the accounting operations back to the company after being outsourced for years. She started as the controller and quickly became the Director of Finance. On April 15th, 2024 Sangster was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Barreto receives recognition for academic excellence

The Class of 2024’s best and brightest students were recognized on April 29, 2024, at the 34th Annual Academic Excellence Recognition luncheon. Governor Kristi Noem’s office, Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden and the Associated School Boards of South Dakota honored students who were identified as the top one percent of their senior class from the state’s Public, Private and tribal/BIE schools.
