LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor: Regarding the property located at 524E. 6th Street, at the corner of Logan and E. 6th: I am not a resident of the City of Gregory. However, during my time working as the Field Appraiser for the Assessor’s office, I had the unique opportunity to inspect many properties in Gregory County. The experience helped me to develop respect and appreciation for the history of this county. Over the years, I have watched a number of structurally sound buildings be razed, as well as others that were not worth salvaging. However, it is because of my experience, I consider this particular house to be one of the unique homes in the county. It was constructed above average in quality in comparison to many older homes across the area. This is one reason I believe this house is worthy of consideration for preservation.

Shall not be infringed

South Dakota has been setting the standard as the most Second, Amendment-friendly state in the nation for years. We embrace liberty and personal responsibility. We know that our Founding Fathers created a government that recognizes our God-given rights – including the right to defend ourselves, our families, and our freedoms.

A CANADIAN PERSPECTIVE

ERSPECTIVE Twenty-two years ago, four hijacked airplanes crashed in three locations in the US, most notably the two planes that crashed into the twin trade towers in New York, causing almost 3000 deaths (hundreds of them Canadians) and sparking a national crisis. The divided forces in this country came together under President Bush, and with the help of other democracies, retaliated by going to war against the initiating Islamic forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now, those responsible have been driven back to Iran, where the medieval, religious, cleric government struggles to remain in power so they can supply munitions to Russia and keep control over 90 million citizens, where women are viewed as childbearing possessions.
