GHS Cheer & Dance teams have been busy

The 2022 competitive cheer & dance season started on August 1. The 12 girls dedicated the month of June to improving their individual skills by going to Dance Nationals in Orlando, FL, trainings at Get Splits with Jenny, yoga and strength at Sodak Sun Yoga, and personal trainings at the gym or at-home workouts.
Spikers win five straight including Bon Homme, Chamberlain, Winner

On the 27th of September, the Spikers hosted Bon Homme. The Bon Homme team came in 10-7 and the Spikers came out on top, playing 5 sets.
Pheasant season arrives Saturday

Pheasant hunting is one of South Dakota’s greatest traditions, and the south-central part of the state is the heart of pheasant country, with miles of rolling hills, prairie and cropland providing the kind of habitat the birds need to thrive.

Bailey Veskrna uses Sam’s Farm Festival to honor her father

Sam’s Farm Festival has undergone a few changes since its inception a year ago. A popular local attraction, the festival, which is open every Sunday in October, features a large variety of activities, vignettes, food, and a small gift shop. Every direction you turn has something different to investigate - a llama, chickens, a pig, a garden in which children may “plant” seeds, a stock tank full of corn to play in, a general store with an ice cream counter where play money is freely doled out, practice steers to rope with hoola hoop rings, set-ups for photo opportunities, and much, much more.
