Winner Regional Foundation will be hosting its annual Holiday Festival 22. This year’s theme is Fireside Roasting and Toasting. The event will feature some new games, as well as some traditional ones. Additionally, there will be 90 minutes of open bar, a couple individual roastings by our em-cee, a great dinner, silent and live auction, and a standup comedian to finish off the night. We have some great auction and raffle items this year that you will want to be present to win. The goal is to raise $75,000.00 to assist with some new physical therapy equipment, a stress test machine for our respiratory therapy department, and some adjustable height tables for the residents in long-term care.

Owen Hansen was selected as the 2022 recipient of the Monte Pickner Award at the state championship football game. The award was first given in 2004 in memory of Monte Pickner, an outstanding member of the 2001 Kimball state championship team.

Perched atop a fence at Badlands National Park, Troy Heinert peered from beneath his widebrimmed hat into a corral where 100 wild bison awaited transfer to the Rosebud Indian Reservation. Descendants of bison that once roamed North America’s Great Plains by the tens of millions, the animals would soon thunder up a chute, take a truck ride across South Dakota and join one of many burgeoning herds Heinert has helped reestablish on Native American lands.

Gregory County 4-H held their annual recognition night on Sunday, November 20th at the Gregory Community Room, with more than 70 people in attendance for the event. Emcees included Melissa Vosika, Brecken Vosika & Jack Schulte. First up, 4-H Registered Volunteers were recognized for their efforts and hard work, as well as their years of service.
