Gregory County 4-H put on a dinosaur cloverbud camp for youth ages 5 years old to 8 years old. This workshop was held on Thursday, June 23rd in Burke at the Civic Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. At this workshop the youth learned about dinosaurs and then got to make their own dinosaurs! The youth all had a fun time.

Future Leaders of 4-H (youth ages 10+) visited Skatetown in Colome for a skating party. The party was held on Friday, June 10th, and went from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The youth played different games while skating including dodgeball and limbo. The next Future Leaders event (renamed from Teen Leaders) will take place on July 8th at 6:00 p.m. at Dayspring in Gregory. Be sure to join us.

The South Dakota Senate’s decision last week to remove Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg from office was an emphatic victory for Gov. Kristi Noem, whose harddriving effort to oust her fellow Republican likely sealed his fate even as some GOP lawmakers backed him.

The South Dakota Senate on Tuesday, June 21, convicted Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg of two impeachment charges stemming from a 2020 fatal accident, removing and barring him from future office in a stinging rebuke that showed most senators didn’t believe his account of the crash.

Agriculture education teachers/FFA advisors make a world of difference for the students they teach. This spring students put into words, as part of an FFA Advisor Tribute Scholarship application, how their ag teachers/FFA advisors have impacted their lives. Thirty outstanding examples of amazing teachers impacting their students have been chosen out the applicants, and winning students will each receive scholarships to attend a SD FFA leadership retreat this summer.
