Expanded alcohol sales approved by South Dakota Board Of Regents

During their June board meeting, the South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) unanimously approved an expanded alcohol sales policy for South Dakota public universities. The policy allows the six universities governed by the Board of Regents to extend the sale of alcoholic beverages into general admission areas of performing arts and athletic events.

4-H workshop was held for jewelry design with beads

Gregory County 4-H held a jewelry design with beads workshop on Monday, June 20th. This workshop, led by Erin Schulte, was held at the old community room in Burke from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The youth got to pick out their own beads and then decide on what order they wanted them to go in while designing their necklaces and bracelets.

Wood flower crafting workshop held

Gregory County youth created different projects using wood flowers. These wood flowers were made from trees and carved into various flowers by hand. Youth dipped the flowers to color them and were able to then use those flowers for various crafts.

GHS class of 1957 to meet

Dear Classmates: I have been informed that it is reunion time for the Class of ’57. This will be our 13th class reunion.

Dallas Cares scholarships awarded

Dallas Cares awards one $500.00 scholarship to a boy and one $500.00 scholarship to a girl in the Gregory County/Tripp County area. Any high school senior who was interested submitted a essay on the value of volunteering. This year there were two boy applicants and seven girl applicants. The winners were Finnegan Bartles and Matilynn Stevicks.
