Acupuncture is one of the oldest practices in traditional Chinese medicine. Some theories even suggest that it may have been practiced elsewhere in Eurasia during the Stone Age, given evidence of the mummified body of Otzi the Iceman, which had tattoos around the areas where acupuncture needles are used. Today, acupuncture is still used to treat a wide variety of health concerns in humans, but the field of animal acupuncture is a new and growing field.
