Today, acupuncture is still used to treat a wide variety of health concerns in humans, but the field of animal acupuncture is a new and growing field.

Local lightning strike last Friday destroys tree in town

One inch and 21 hundredths of rain wasn’t the only story from the past weekend. Friday evening’s storm produced some lightning that hit very close to home, striking a tree at the corner of 13th Street and Rosebud Avenue.

Gorilla tracksters return home with hardware from the state meet

The Gregory Gorilla track team traveled to the state meet in Sioux Falls to compete against the best of the best in South Dakota track and field. This was the first time that the state meet was held with all three classes B, A, and AA competing at the same time in the same venue over a three-day period. This new format presented opportunities and challenges for our athletes.

South Central Storm grabs lead in eighth inning to defeat Gold Sox

South Central Storm men’s amateur baseball team snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over the Gold Sox on Thursday, May 26, in Plankinton. The game was tied at six with the Storm batting in the top of the eighth when VanDerWerff singled on a 2-0 count, and one run was scored.

PGDCWL Honkers capture lead early to defeat Gregory County

Gregory County watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 20-2 loss to Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake on Monday, May 23, in region play. The Honkers scored on a single by Hanson, a single by Christensen, a stolen base by C. Foxley, and an error in the first inning.

Gregory County slides into a blow-out win over CKL

Gregory County easily dispatched Chamberlain/Kimball/ Lyman 10-1 on Monday, May 23, in region play. Gregory County opened up scoring in the second inning when Gannon Thomas tagged up after a caught fly to right field.
