VFW and Gregory American Legion Auxiliary show appreciation

The Gregory VFW, along with the American Legion Auxiliary, presented the Gregory Police Department and the Gregory County Sheriffs Department with homemade cookies in appreciation for their continued efforts in keeping the residents of our community and surrounding communities safe. Law enforcement also assist the fire departments with traffic control in event of a fire and they also assists the ambulance service when they are dispatched for a medical emergency.

Taking care of people

South Dakota is in the middle of a healthcare boom. While the strain of the pandemic has challenged this industry across the country, our state has remained resilient.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor, Who is responsible for flag maintenance at city hall? The flag was dirty and torn in shreds. Why did someone have to pass on to get a new flag put up? Two months ago I was at Gregory County Courthouse - flag there was in shreds.

The early colonial settlers on the East Coast learned about the significant agricultural products that would be available to them in their new home from Spanish, French, and English explorers. The long established Spanish settlements of the West Indies, Florida, and Mexico also contributed to their understanding of the conditions they would face. It is significant that these new settlements were established in areas where there was an established dominant native culture. To them we owe a lot!
