Gregory Legion back in business after kitchen remodel

A professionally-equipped kitchen makes a better work environment for the cooks at the Gregory American Legion. After closing for a few weeks to install the updates, the Legion is again open for Sunday evening meals. Money for the improvements is still needed, however, and donations may be dropped off at the Legion or mailed to P.O. Box 121, Gregory, SD 57533.

April marks Month of the Military Child

April marks Month of the Military Child, an annual celebration where communities across the country lift up the sons and daughters of our military heroes. During this time, we remember that the men and women in uniform are not the only ones who sacrifice for our country – their families sacrifice time together. Sometimes they even sacrifice the life of their loved ones.

A Note From Cottonwood Corners

Those interested in the cattle ranges of the Great Plains can find some of their beginnings during the colonial times in what was to become South Carolina as well as in the Spanish ranches of the Southwest. There were similarities between them as well as differences. It must also be remembered that the terminology used to describe the raising of cattle on the open range all across America changed over the years.
