After the election on October 1, 1889, for the temporary seat of government, the folks in Pierre felt confident that it would become the permanent capital. Before the October election, plans had been made for the construction of a frame capitol building. This was to be a gift from the city of Pierre to the State of South Dakota.

Gregory Elementary students to participate in honor choir

Nine Gregory fourth - sixth grade students were chosen to sing in the Elementary Festival Honor Choir held in Brookings, SD on Thursday, February, 10, 2022. Gregory students selected are: George Timanus, David Biggins, Jaelyn Birkeland, Eliana Fiebelkorn, Jerilee, Hanson, Hadley Braun, Gracelyn Lanz, Otto Reber, and Elizabeth Wonnenberg.

2021 city tax revenues see significant increase over 2020

The regular meeting of the Gregory City Council was held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at City Hall. Hamilton’s launch almost complete Former City Administrator/Finance Officer Al Cerny was present to ask the council to extend the time given to help train his replacement, Alex Hamilton.
