Don Hausmann

A celebration of life for Don Hausmann was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church in Bonesteel, SD. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bonesteel with Clausen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Donald Joseph Hausmann was born Aug. 30, 1927, to Joseph and Anna (Sondgeroth) Hausmann on their family farm north of Bonesteel, SD. He was one among 16 children, three of whom would sing with him in the Hausmann Brothers Quartet, two of whom became nuns, seven of whom all returned safely from war, and all of whom helped to grow the rich and robust Hausmann family lineage.

LeRoy Totton

Funeral services for LeRoy Totton were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home in Gregory, SD, with Pastor Russ Grim officiating. Bernice Klein was in charge of registration, and several selections of recorded music were played.

Nola Grim

Nola Jean Grim was born on September 7, 1957, to Leonard “Ray” and Irene (Stahlecker) Grim in Gregory, SD. She was the fifth-born child in a family of ten. She grew up on the family farm six miles south of Gregory. Nola attended Gordan School District #46 until the 6th grade and then attended Gregory Public School, where she graduated in 1975. Nola enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the farm, and had a great love for her family and friends. She built a life centered on the people she loved. She had a quiet strength with a deep sense of compassion and generosity, and poured her heart into everything she did. She found joy in the simple pleasures in life, and her vibrant spirit and boundless kindness touched countless lives. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kent Weborg

Funeral services for Kent Curtis Weborg were held at at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Pender Community Center in Pender, NE. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Kent was born on January 18, 1952, in Pender, NE, to Curtis and Janice (Anderson) Weborg. Kent grew up on the family farm, working alongside his father, and quickly discovered his love and passion for farming. He graduated from Pender Public School in 1970 and continued his education at the University of Nebraska until his father was injured and he was asked to return to the family farm. Kent married Colleen Holtz on March 23, 1974, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. To this union, they had two sons, Tyler and Tony.

A graveside service for James Songer was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, at Winner City Cemetery in Winner, SD, with Pastor Judy Sherman officiating. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ory Kiner, Zach Eagle Hawk, Sr., Mike Boerner, Jose Aquirre, Sr., La Kota Songer, and Jon Parshall. Honorary casket bearers were Kevin Montes, Steve Cunningham, Aaron Black Thunder, Sylvan Abdo, Blake Fredericks, Darius Black Thunder, Darren Black Thunder, Dale Goodman, Patrick Charging Hawk, and Edgar Black Bull, Sr.

Funeral services for Pearl Rose Black Bull were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Marach 28, 2025, at the Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel, SD, with Fr. Ron Garry officiating. Casket bearers were John Maunu, Tom Welch, Daniel Bear Heels, Ronald Ramirez, Mahland Teel, and Ed Black Bull, Sr. Honorary casket bearers were Johnny, Clarinda, Jacob, Tyler, Amber, Anna, Nicole, and Diamond. Interment was at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in St. Charles, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pearl Rose Black Bull was born June 28, 1942, in St. Charles, SD, to Soloman and Alvina (Patterson) Black Bull, the oldest of twelve children.

Eleanor Klein

Funeral services for Eleanor Ruth Klein were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Union Baptist Church in Burke, SD with Pastor Mark Tuttle officiating. Music was provided by Mark Tuttle, accompanied by Jane Tuttle. Casket bearers were James Larson, Tanner Larson, Eric Perez, Jeremy Evans, Chris Goosman, and Nick Klein. Katie Evans, Stacy Larson, Stacey Larson, Kacey Perez, Carly Goosman, and all of Eleanor’s great-grandchildren, friends, and family were honorary casket bearers. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Burke. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Eleanor Ruth (Herndon) Klein was born April 2, 1932, to Lewis and Florence (Holbert) Herndon, and she died peacefully on March 11, 2025, at the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, SD, at the age of 92 years.

Linda Schmitz

Funeral services for Linda Louise Schmitz were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bonesteel, SD, with Father Ron Garry officiating. Music was provided by the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Choir with Roberta Witt as accompanist.

Bryer Beck

A private family funeral service was held for Bryer Layne Beck at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, SD, with Pastor Russ Grim officiating. Casket bearers were Michaella Smith, Jonah Beck, Landon Schoenefeld, and Jeremiah Beck. Interment was at Olive Branch Cemetery in Mills, NE. Bryer Layne Beck was welcomed into this world by his parents Noah and Danielle (Schoenefeld) Beck on March 3, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. He weighed 1 lb. 15.7 oz. and was 13.5 inches long. His strength and loving personality were shown through his eyebrow raises, squirms, and smirks. Our hearts were introduced to a love we never knew over the four days we were blessed with Bryer’s company. He was able to meet his grandmas, grandpas, aunts, and uncles. He shares a birthday with his cousin Scottie Be Beck.
