PIERRE, S.D. (8/4/26) – With rising housing prices and tight inventory, South Dakota Housing’s Board of Commissioners took action on a new initiative to increase the supply of workforce housing across the state.

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces South Dakota will receive $996,862.80 as its share in a $400 million settlement in principle with Sandoz Inc. to resolve allegations that the generic drug manufacturer engaged in widespread, long-running conspiracies to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade with regard to numerous generic prescription drugs.

PIERRE, SD – With the vast majority of South Dakota in a drought and experiencing high temperatures, grain producers are having to make some tough decisions about their crops. Will those grains produce enough yield to make harvesting them a financially viable option, or is it better to use those crops as forage for livestock?

I canned pickles over the weekend, which entailed peeling garlic cloves. Even though I beat each clove with the side of a large knife to loosen the skins, I still had to do a substantial amount of digging and scraping to clean them to my satisfaction.

I grew up in a large Midwestern city, attending three different schools before eighth grade. Then my family moved to a very small rural town in Nebraska, where I spent my high school years and graduated with a class of fewer than twenty students.
