USDA extends Supplemental Disaster Relief Program application deadline

(Washington, D.C., Aug. 10, 2026) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending the deadline for farmers to apply for Stages 1 and 2 of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) to Sept. 30, 2026. Additionally, USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is providing greater flexibility for farmers who experienced quality losses on eligible crops.

Under the governor’s proclamation of 1861, and at the election in September elected John Shober, councilman, by fiftytwo votes, no opposition; and for representative chose George M. Pinney, by fifty-three votes, and Reuben Wallace, by fifty-one votes.

Lower speed limit receives little pushback, becomes law

After receiving little to no pushback about reducing the speed limit in town, the Gregory City Council approved the purchase of 35 new signs at their regular meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026. Mayor Laura Petersen talked about the good of the lower speed limit given the increased number of e-bikes, scooters, and golf carts traveling around town.
