Funeral services to be held for Deanna Brooks Funeral services for Deanna Brooks, age 84, of Gregory, SD, will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gregory, SD, with Father Jonathon Dillon, celebrant. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Gregory, SD. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tribute Quartet will perform at Prairie View Gospel Barn at 6:30, Sunday, December 3, as part of their “Always Grace” tour. Since 2006, the multi award winning and multi Dove Award nominated recording group, Tribute Quartet, has become one of the country’s most dynamic, beloved, and sought-after male quartets in all of gospel music.

The Gregory oral interpretation team took six pieces and eight competitors to regions on Nov. 12, and five pieces and all eight competitors qualified for the state festival. The competition was held at the Ramkota Convention Center in Pierre with fourteen schools participating. The top three in each category qualified for the state festival.

Jerod Bolling showed up for the public input portion of the meeting of the Gregory County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, November 21. Frustrated with an adjacent landowner who has a locked gate on a section line fence, prohibiting him from getting to his landlocked land, he asked the board to re-open the road on the section line.
