How is Veterans Day celebrated?

What is a Veteran? Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations defines a veteran as “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.”

Say thanks to veterans before it’s too late

This November will be the 39th anniversary of the Wall at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Where did those 39 years go? Is Vietnam becoming be only a memory? I hope not.

SD CSP and EQIP application deadline set for December 3

For South Dakota farmers and ranchers, the deadline to submit initial paperwork for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) or the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is December 3. Administered by the U.S.

Modern Woodmen honor Sunshine Club

The Sunshine Club was honored at Sissy’s Café at an Modern Woodmen event. The ladies of the Sunshine Club diligently volunteer their time to keep the city of Gregory beautiful through the spring, summer and fall months. They maintain several flower gardens around town, including those at the Gregory City Park and “Welcome to Gregory” sign and so much more. Three of the club members are, l to r: Goldie Warnkvist, Betty Warnkvist and Pat Cerny. If you see any of the members of the club take a moment and thank them for all they do.

Plan ahead for 3G phase out in 2022

The SD PUC wants South Dakotans to be aware that all major mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, plan to phase out their 3G networks in 2022. The decommissioning of 3G networks, which rely on older technology, is part of a larger plan that will allow providers to focus more of their resources on building out newer networks, like 5G, to meet consumer demands instead of maintaining an older one. As a result of this change, older phones that require 3G networks to operate will lose service.
