August 31, 2021, marking the end of his military career, has been proclaimed Major Anthony W. Timanus Day in the state by Governor Kristi Noem.

Road-related issues dominate agenda

The regular meeting of the Gregory County Board of Commissioners was held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the Gregory County Courthouse. Poisonous weed now present in county Ed And Annie Dostal met with the board to discuss Spotted Water Hemlock, a poisonous plant that is deadly to both humans and animals and has been found in creeks around the county.

Finley Frasch, daughter of Sarah and Jason Frasch, is very excited to start begindergarten with teacher Jana Winters. Students and parents were invited to an open house held on Monday, August 23 to meet their teacher and drop off supplies so they are ready for the first day of school.

Gorilla football team to start season with new head coach

After nine years as an assistant coach for the Gregory Gorillas football team, Mike Murray has stepped into the head coach position. Murray had plenty of time to study under two very successful coaches, Brian Allmendinger, who coached the Gorillas to state championships in 2014, 2016, and 2017, and John King, who took the team as far as the semi-final game in the state tournament in 2019.
