The Lunne/Peterson family reunion was held in Gregory on July 16, 17 and 18, 2021, and a fun time was had by all. Those in attendance were: Doug and Ruth Jones of Pierre, Blaine Lunne of Buffalo, WY, Alice Slade of Gregory, Caroline Peterson of Platte, Curtis Wiedman and Rocky Wiedman, Jr.

Gregory County producers are eligible to apply for 2021 Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) benefits on small grain, native pasture and improved pasture, beginning on June 22, 2021. LFP provides compensation if you suffer grazing losses for covered livestock due to drought on privately owned or cash leased land or fire on federally managed land.

Gregory County registered as a category D3 on the June 22, 2021 National Drought Monitor. The D3 status opens up the following disaster programs in our county.

As I write this I’m riding across South Dakota after a few days of work in the Hills. The smoke from fires in Ontario and fires in the western US are blanketing us with thick smoke. The air tastes bad and as far as I can see - and it’s not far - all I see is a gray landscape.
