Meet the candidates

The city election will be held Tuesday, April 13, and the only item on the ballot is for a city council seat in Ward III, in which incumbent Guyla Husman is being challenged by James Sargent. Shana Flakus’ term in Ward I ends this year, but neither she nor any contenders filed to run for the vacancy. Cory Graber, in Ward II, is running unopposed.

Easter egg hunt a huge success

The Gregory/Dallas Chamber of Commerce and Gregory High School National Honor Society hosted three Easter egg hunts for different age groups in downtown Gregory on Saturday. Lots of children, along with parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and various other adults showed up to enjoy the beautiful Easter weekend morning.

4-H hosts 2021 Youth in Action Day

On Thursday, March 11, Gregory County 4-H held their annual Youth In Action day contest. The morning kicked off with Special Foods at 10:00 a.m., being judged by Ann Schwader. Check out the Facebook page “Gregory County 4-H” to watch videos of youth preparing and presenting their dishes. Public Presentations began at 1:00 p.m., being judged by Kristy Ring. Each presenter’s presentation is on the Facebook page as well and can be watched. Our youth’s recipes can be picked up in our office or can be checked out in our April newsletter.

GMS students present play

Students from the Gregory Middle School returned to the stage this year performing their rendition of the play “The Crimson House Murder.” The play was held at the Dixon Town Hall Theatre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and the attendees had plenty of scenes to smile and laugh about.
