The Gregory cross country team participated in the Burke Invite on Thursday, September 29. In the varsity boy's division Luke Sinclair ran a personal best time of 17:34 which resulted in a 3rd place finish out of a field of 52 runners.

To its owner, the FFA jacket is a physical reminder of the personal accomplishments achieved through the organization – a symbol of commitment and dedication for all who wear the corduroy. This fall 319 South Dakota FFA members from 75 chapters, will receive their own FFA jackets through the SD FFA Foundation Blue Jackets Bright Futures FFA Jacket Program – carrying forward that long-standing tradition of pride, dignity and honor.

On Saturday, October 2nd, the Marching Gorillas loaded the bus at 5:45 a.m. to march and compete in the Dakota Days parade in Vermillion. The Gorillas competed in class 'A' against Vermillion High School and South Sioux City High School, schools that are quite larger than Gregory. "The kids showed a lot of Gorilla pride marching throughout the parade. There were a lot of spectators that really enjoyed our performance Saturday. We are looking forward to giving our hometown a good performance on Friday during the parade and at halftime of the GHS football game,” stated by band director Jared Opp.

Hope is one of those dynamic words that deserves the title of catalyst when it comes to change. It is a spiritual attribute that God’s people should use regularly as it is filled with life, excitement, and positive energy. Your first reaction to the idea of hope may be one of skepticism because you are thinking, it’s easy for someone to talk about hope when they do not understand what a terrible condition my life is in. Well, I may not have walked in your shoes, but I know that being negative and giving up will not make the situation better. It’s true that health and financial problems, discouragement, fear, and family and marital issues are very serious problems but the Lord has a special word for you today found in Romans 8:31, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” He knows everything that is happening in your life today and is waiting for you to place all of your hope and trust in Him alone. He is the God that cannot fail!
