School enrollment numbers are up across Gregory County

The Gregory, Burke, and South Central School Districts all report increases in total school enrollment for the 2021-22 school year. Although official enrollment numbers won’t be reported until the end of September, school officials anticipate little change between now and then.

The Prairie Wanderers Volkssport Club is having a first ever Volks-Walk in Gregory on Sunday, September 12, and everyone is invited to join in. Two different routes have been planned around the town -- a 5 kilometer route (3.1 miles) and a 10 kilometer route (6.2 miles).

Ten cowboys and cowgirls spent the past weekend at the 50th South Dakota 4-H Finals Rodeo in Fort Pierre, SD. With cooler temps and intermittent rain showers these kids competed against 640 other contestants hoping to bring home the ultimate prize of a saddle in their respective event.

After a hard fought loss to the Wall Eagles (19-6) last week, Gregory defeated Irene-Wakonda 54-14 on Friday, August 27 at Mike Dacy field in Gregory. The win moves Gregory to 1-1 on the season.
