Gregory County 4-H hosted a babysitting workshop on Thursday, May 27th, which lasted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. These teens had a full day of learning important babysitting skills such as how to perform CPR, first aid skills, fire safety skills, how to put a diaper on a baby, and many other skills on how to properly care for a child.

Seventeen Republican attorneys general have filed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit brought by South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem against the Biden administration over its decision to deny a request to hold a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore National Memorial in July to celebrate Independence Day.

Governors to DOJ: continue investigation into anti-competitive practices in the meatpacking industry

On Thursday, May 27, Governor Kristi Noem and five other governors wrote to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), asking them to continue their investigation into anti-competitive practices in the meatpacking industry. The DOJ had originally sent investigative demands to the nation’s four largest meatpackers in May 2020.

Succulent gardening was part of Gregory County 4-H’s Summer Discovery series. On Monday, May 24th, the children personalized flowerpots, played a fun game of Red Rover, learned about how important oxygen and drainage are to soil, and planted their very own mini succulent gardens. They were able to take their pots home and watch them grow.
