This is the third installment in the history of Gregory’s hospitals and nursing home. With the new hospital in Gregory only 25 years old, the boards of directors of Gregory Community Hospital and Rosebud Nursing Home, together with the Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society (LHHS) of Fargo, which operated both facilities, decided in June 1973 to launch a $1,750,000 building program to erect a new 40-bed hospital and add on to the Rosebud Home.

Two weeks after graduating from Southern State college with an associate of life science and electronic repair degree, Ray Martinmaas was drafted into the Army. It was 1970 and while many of his classmates went to Vietnam, the Army had other plans for Martinmaas.

The New Civil Liberties Alliance has filed a Complaint against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and its Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) unlawful new rule requiring electronically readable (EID) eartags for certain cattle and bison transported across state lines, rather than long-used visual tags. Representing ranchers, farmers, and livestock producers who move cattle across state lines, NCLA urges the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota to halt this illegal attempt to eliminate an already-in-place efficient means of cattle identification.

Commentary by Bill Bullard, CEO, R-CALF USA The U.S. has long had tariffs and tariff-rate quotas in our cattle, beef, and sheep and lamb industries. But the problem is that the tariffs are way too low to be effective.

The Lady Spikers wrapped up their regular season play on Monday, October 28, with a much-needed 3-2 win against Andes Central/Dakota Christian, clinching the #2 spot in the Region 5B tournament. Set scores were 25-18, 25-15, 16-25, 14-25, and 15-10.
