Wonnenberg girls are kept hopping with rabbit shows

Hank and Melissa Wonnenberg’s girls, Elizabeth (12) and Lydia (10), don’t have a gaming system to occupy their time. Instead they have a barn full of animals they raise and show, from rabbits, chickens, dogs, and companion animals to pigs and beef and dairy cattle.

Gregory County receives $50,000 childcare grant

Access to affordable childcare is a crisis across the state and nation, and our local communities are experiencing many of the same difficulties. In strong and quick collaboration with economic development folks from Bonesteel and Gregory, the Burke Business Promotion Corporation applied for and was awarded a grant from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development to study childcare in Gregory County.

Storm wrestlers claim sixth place at Miller

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers finished sixth out of 17 teams in Miller at the Bob Lager Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 6, with ten of the 14 wrestlers who went competing as varsity. The team is still missing their 175 pounder and one of their 120 pounders. Coach Webster is looking forward to getting them healed and having a full team back on the mat.

Lady Gorillas drop two in first games of 2024

Gregory 30 - AC/DC 64 The Gregory girls basketball team started the New Year on the road at Lake Andes on January 2. Gregory trailed 7-13 after the first quarter and 15-31 at halftime.
