Funeral services to be held for Russell Kinzer Funeral services for Russell Kinzer, age 88, of Colome, SD, will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the Berean Church, Gregory, SD. Burial will follow at Colome City Cemetery, Colome, SD.

Gregory Elementary brings home the traveling trophy for Reading Olympics

The Reading Olympics was held Friday, April 1, 2022, at Winner Elementary School. Gregory Elementary School took 42 students in nine teams from second through seventh grades to compete. As a whole, Gregory Elementary ended the day with the most points, winning the overall event and claiming the traveling trophy.

Burke Pink Ladies holding fund raiser to help local cancer patients

The Burke Pink Ladies are hosting an Afghan Raffle Fundraiser through the month of April. Three arm-knitted afghans were made by Linda Kinzer, and are now on display at the First Fidelity Bank locations in Burke and Bonesteel, and Bankwest in Gregory, and will be raffled off to three lucky winners during the Burke Pink Ladies meeting on May 2, 2022. Tickets can be purchased at each bank location or from any Burke Pink Lady member up until the drawing on May 2, 2022. The funds raised will be used to help local cancer patients and their families. Winner Regional Health announces collaboration with LifeServe Blood Center

Winner Regional Health announces a new collaboration with LifeServe Blood Center and its community partners facilitating local blood drives. We are very appreciative of the partnership we have had with Vitalant Blood Services, however; over the years we recognize the need to create a new partnership with LifeServe Blood Center to best serve our community needs. Winner Regional Health joins 28 other hospitals in South Dakota to manage their blood services. While the Hospital has made the transition this past January of 2022, the community blood drives will be switching to LifeServe in May of 2022. The next community blood drive will be on Monday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 24, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Tripp

Funding available for furnace repair or replacement

A program helping South Dakotans who own their home to afford the repair or replacement of their furnace has more funding available, and eligible low-income households in need are encouraged to apply.
