In early America, there were many ways for someone on the frontier to die. Those explorers and settlers were faced with an abundance of causes which often resulted in their death. It was an often painful and gruesome experience.

Grim wins seat on Gregory City Council

Darwin Grim was the top vote earner in the city’s election on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. The only item on the ballot was a Ward II seat on the city council. Grim was one of three candidates vying for the position, recently held and vacated by Seymour Studenberg on his death. Studenberg’s name was on the ballot, nonetheless, because petitions for the race had been turned in prior to his death. The third candidate for the seat was Butch Rolf.

Klundt honored as girls assistant basketball coach

Lonnie Klundt was recently named the Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year for Southwest Region 7 by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association. Klundt has been coaching since 1991.

NSU student interns at Gregory School District

Lucas Frederick, a senior from Northern State University, has been interning at the Gregory School District this semester. A major in music education, Frederick will graduate May 6, upon completion of this final requirement.

Senior music students visit Music City, USA

“Working all those concession stands was 100% worth it,” a group of senior music students said of their trip to Nashville, April 1 - 4. Christian Spann, Emma Thomas, and Kodi Timanus were happy to share some thoughts about the trip. Their excitement was obvious as they recalled a few of their favorite moments.
