Dear Editor: Having read our Canadian correspondent’s letter in the 23 March Times-Advocate, and done the industrial strength cerebrating J.L.’s letter prompted, as intended, I would like to share my thoughts... I must say that J.L.

Those interested in the cattle ranges of the Great Plains can find some of their beginnings during the colonial times in what was to become South Carolina as well as in the Spanish ranches of the Southwest. There were similarities between them as well as differences. It must also be remembered that the terminology used to describe the raising of cattle on the open range all across America changed over the years.

City Council will have significant turnover after next week’s election

A city election will be held next Tuesday, April 12, from 7:00 a.m until 7:00 p.m., at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Currently, the forecast doesn’t show any weather concerns, but in the event of bad weather, the election may be postponed one week.

Two Gregory County women are breaking ground as professional football players in South Dakota

Football fans in South Dakota have no problem feeding their addiction; NFL games are televised most of the year, and between high school, college, and indoor professional football, live games are played around the state from the end of August until the end of November and from March through July. Last year, the Sioux Falls Snow Leopards, South Dakota’s first professional women’s tackle football team, added another offering to the mix.
