Bird flu found in Nebraska so 570,000 chickens to be killed

Nebraska agriculture officials say 570,000 broiler chickens will be slaughtered after bird flu was confirmed in the flock. The state Agriculture Department said that avian influenza had been confirmed at a commercial operation in Butler County in eastern Nebraska.

Avera Gregory provides hands-on experience to medical student

Steve Gates, a second-year medical student at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, recently completed a three-week rotation at Avera Medical Group Gregory and Avera Gregory Hospital. Originally from Rapid City, Gates graduated from Stevens High School in 2010 before continuing his education at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

VFW and Gregory American Legion Auxiliary show appreciation

The Gregory VFW, along with the American Legion Auxiliary, presented the Gregory Police Department and the Gregory County Sheriffs Department with homemade cookies in appreciation for their continued efforts in keeping the residents of our community and surrounding communities safe. Law enforcement also assist the fire departments with traffic control in event of a fire and they also assists the ambulance service when they are dispatched for a medical emergency.
