A safer South Dakota

One of my main responsibilities as Governor is to keep South Dakota safe. It’s something that I take very seriously. After all, I love this state. I love the people who live here. In a small state like ours, we’re all really neighbors. We get to know one another. And we work together to take care of each other.

School board moves ahead with storm repair project

A special meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education was held at 8:00 a.m., Friday, April, 16, 2021, at the high school to hear the building and grounds committee’s recommendation as to which contractor to hire to repair storm damage from last August’s hail storm.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

To the Editor, Because initial jurisdiction to begin investigating errors of a voting machine is the responsibility of local law enforcement, I have asked the Tripp County Sheriff Shawn Pettit to take action which should concern all South Dakotans. With bipartisan support I have made a formal request to the Tripp County Sheriff’s Office for an investigation into a successful cyber-attack by a foreign adversary on South Dakota’s election system including a comprehensive forensic audit of the machine or machines involved.

A Note From Cottonwood Corners

The oneroom school still evokes nostalgia in the hearts of folks in this country. From the very beginning, our history as a democratic nation is tied to the development of such schools in the country and early settlements of America.
