Networking and education make for a busy couple of days for Chief Catts

A firm believer in networking and continuing education in order to better serve the community, Gregory’s police chief Doug Catts was busy doing both in October. These PODS are more useful than mobile storage units Officer Catts was asked to be a part of a POD class in June.

Meet the candidates for District 21

The midterm election will take place on Tuesday, November 8. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m until 7:00 p.m. Residents in Gregory City Precinct #1 (Gregory Civil, Edens, Dixon, Carlock, Dickens, Lone Star, Huston, Landing Creek, and the north portion of Rhoades Townships) will vote at Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Burke City Precinct #2 residents (Burke Civil, Lucas, Scissons, Turgeon, Turney, Herrick, Spring Valley, Union, Ellston, St Charles, Jones, and the south portion of Rhoads townships) will vote at the Burke Community Room. Voters in Fairfax Town Precinct #3 (Fairfax Civil, Randall, Star Valley, Bonesteel, Lindley, Pleasant Valley, Schriever, and Whetstone) will cast ballots at Bonesteel Community Room.

The Paul Family Bluegrass to perform at Prairie View Gospel Barn

The Prairie View Gospel Barn will host The Paul Family Bluegrass band at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, November 5. Originally from Florida, The Paul Family Bluegrass band is a family of seven that operates a 12,000 tap, 260 acre maple syrup farm in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Gorillas repel Shark attack

Last Thursday, October 20, the Gregory Gorillas hosted the Iroquois/ Lake Preston Sharks for the first round of the 9A football playoffs. When the teams took the field, it looked like the Gorillas were “going to need a bigger boat,” but the Gorillas managed to stay dry and win the contest 50-0.
