In a beautiful, traditional ceremony, William (Willy) Bearshield was made chief of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe on August 27, 2022. Bearshield is the nephew of Charles White Pipe Jr., who served as the tribal treasurer for 18 years, and who was named chief and received his headdress for tribal leadership in 1982.

Wildlife Damage Program Manager, aka State Trapper, Chris McAllister tracks and hunts animals for a living, but this doesn’t stop when he clocks out of work; he also pursues this pastime in his personal life.

The Gregory High School cross country team attended their first meet of the season on Friday, August 26, in Winner. Gregory claimed two of the top three spots in the varsity division with Luke Sinclair coming in second with a time of 19:54.97 and Fin Adams close behind in third with a 20:03.83.

The Gorillas lost four talented seniors from last year’s cross country team. Emma Thomas, Sierra Rencountre, Dakota Timanus, and Carson Klundt all graduated.
