Rosebud Gorillas Jr. Teeners take 9-5 victory over Winner Rosebud Gorillas Jr.

The Gregory Teeners’ effort to come back from down four runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Platte Teener on Tuesday, June 15. Gregory Teeners put up four runs in the failed comeback. Gunnar Stephens and Rylan Peck all picked up RBIs in the rally.

On Tuesday, June 22, Governor Kristi Noem, along with the South Dakota Department of Health and the South Dakota Department of Education, launched medcannabis.sd.gov, a website to answer questions and provide information about the upcoming medical cannabis program set to take effect on July 1, 2021.

The Gregory Buttes Observation Park Committee appreciates the community members for their monetary support to purchase and reinstall a TV camera to feature video from the Buttes on KE- LO-TV. A donation of $1,500 and two $500 and a number of smaller donations helped to top off the funds to complete the project. The camera installation took place on June 16, 2021, and was ahead of schedule planned for July 4, 2021.

Gene Opbroek, far right, representing the Gregory American Legion Hutchison Post No. 6, presented a check to l to r: Amy Drews, Shelby Drews and Scott Drews. The Gregory American Legion members raised over $3,000 in a benefit held on May 16, 2021. The benefit was held to help with medical-related expenses for the Drews family.

The Gregory Volunteer Fire Department responded to two fires recently. The first, last Thursday, was at Jim Hogrefe’s when a bearing failure caused two belts and one tire to catch fire on his baler, igniting some grass and a bale. On Monday, June 21, Jim Spann also had a bearing failure, resulting in some damage to surrounding grass and a bale before it was extinguished.
